The Angelo State University Rams baseball team will face West Texas A&M in a battle for first place in the Lone Star Conference over the weekend.
The first game begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday, followed by a doubleheader at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Saturday and a final game at 1 p.m. Sunday.
The Rams currently have a 13-8 overall record and 6-2 record in the LSC. Because they are hitting .317 as a team, ASU’s offense is ranked second in LSC. The Buffs enters the series with a 17-5 overall and 6-2 in the LSC. It’s pitching staff has gotten them to the top in the conference. They have a combined 3.77 ERA.
Because ASU split its last series with Texas A&M-Kingsville they hope to rebound after a game four loss in that series.
The two teams, who are currently tied for first, will be fighting for sole possession of number one ranking in the LSC.
