The Rambelles are ranked No. 22 in the Lone Start Conference and West Texas A&M’s team is currently No. 1.
ASU is 18-5 for the season and 7-1 in the LSC. They’ve won eight of the last nine games and are 7-1 on the road.
The team is No. 3 in the conference in hitting with a team average of .344 and is No. 2 in ERA at 2.99. The Rambelles are the top fielding team in the LSC with a .978 fielding percentage.
“I think we are in good shape,” Angelo State head softball coach Travis Scott said in a press release from the university. “We are sitting at 18-5 with a young group. We had a lot of unknowns at the start of the season but we have answered a lot of those this season. Team chemistry is great and everybody is contributing. It has been a fun group but we have our work cut out for us in the next month to month and a half. Hopefully we can rise to the challenge.”
West Texas A&M has won 24 straight games and is ranked No.1 by the NFCA. The Lady Buffs are hitting .412 while maintaining a 2.07 team ERA.
ASU plays at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday followed by a doubleheader at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday.
