Rain moves into the Concho Valley Friday, expected to last through the weekend

The National Weather Service in San Angelo is forecasting a rainy weekend with light rains early Friday, becoming more widespread Friday night.

The showers are expected to last through the weekend and possibly into Monday. One to three inches of accumulation are possible.

Friday will be cloudy with a high near 58 and east to southeast winds around 10 mph. Chances for precipitation are 60 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. Friday night, showers are likely with a low near 46.
On Saturday, the chance for showers is 80 percent with a high near 49. Those chances decrease to 70 percent in the evening with a low of 43.
Sunday’s chance for showers will be 50 percent, increasing to 70 percent in the nighttime hours.
Chances of showers are possible into Monday. The NWS said warmer temperatures will move in Monday; however, a cold front is expected to move into the area late Wednesday, dropping temperatures to near freezing Thursday and Friday.
