Prince Rogers Nelson, known singly as Prince, who had hits such as “Purple Rain” and “When Doves Cry” was found unresponsive in his home at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota.
The Carver County Sheriff’s Office received a medical call at 9:43 a.m. Thursday. According to a press release, when deputies and medical personnel arrived, they found an unresponsive male in the elevator. First responders attempted CPR but were unable to revive Prince. He was pronounced dead at 10:07 a.m.
The Carver County Sheriff’s Office, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and medical examiners are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
