Monday kicked off early voting in San Angelo for the Single Member District 5 City Council seat and San Angelo Police Chief. Those planning to vote early for the July 2 runoff still have an opportunity to cast a ballot.
Early voting will be available from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday; from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and on Monday and Tuesday; and from 12:30 p.m.-5: 30 p.m. Sunday, in the Tom Green County Elections Office, 113 W. Beauregard Ave.
Paper or electronic ballots are available during early voting.
Voters who live in Single Member District 5 can cast their vote for incumbent Elizabeth “Liz” Grindstaff or challenger Lane Carter. The San Angelo Police Chief race is open to all San Angelo voters who can cast a ballot for incumbent Tim Vasquez or challenger Frank Carter.
“The addition of two days of early voting are meant to ensure voters who will be unavailable on the July Fourth holiday weekend have every opportunity to participate in the runoff election,” said City Clerk Bryan Kendrick, City of San Angelo’s elections officer in a May press release. “In fact, the hours of voting on Saturday, June 25, will be the same as on Saturday, July 2.”
