United Blood Services and the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce are joining forces to honor the memory of Phil Neighbors by holding a blood drive Feb. 17-18 at Shannon Medical Center. Neighbors donated 22 units of blood between December 2006 and 2016. He died Feb. 3, after a sudden illness.
Anyone wishing to donate in Neighbors’ memory can do so at the drive at Shannon or at the UBS donation center through Feb. 29. Tell UBS staff that the donation is for Neighbors so that he will be credited for it.
The drive at Shannon will be from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 17-18 in the Legacy Room, 120 E. Harris Ave.
Donors will receive their choice of two movie passes, a $10 Starbucks gift card or a Shannon Gift Shop gift certificate. 2RBC (double red blood cells) donors will receive their choice of any two of the previous list plus a free buffet from Double Dave’s PizzaWorks.
Donors will also be eligible for the Straight from the Heart blood drive, which includes entry for the drawing for two San Angelo Rodeo tickets and entry for the grand prize drawing which includes a $500 gift card to the Waterford Wellness Spa, courtesy of Cecil A Ross Investments and Insurance.
