Parents disarm gunman in possible Utah middle school shooting

A mother and father from Bountiful, Utah disarmed their 15-year-old son at a  middle school Thursday after they noticed strange behavior and two handguns missing from their home.

According to a press release from the Bountiful City Police Department, the parents arrived shortly after the boy entered a classroom of 26 students and fired a round into the ceiling. They boy then pointed a gun to himself, when his parents entered the room.

The parents managed to disarm the boy and physically detain him until authorities arrived.

The boy, who will bot be identified because of his age, was booked into the Farmington Bay Juvenile Detention Center on multiple charges stemming from the incident.
