A suspect in an ongoing criminal investigation was killed after he raised a pistol towards law enforcement during a traffic stop in Llano County.
According to a release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, a stop was made at approximately 5:07 p.m. by a DPS trooper on a motorcycle traveling westbound on State Highway 71, east of County Road 305.
The motorcycle operator was a suspect in an ongoing criminal investigation.
According to a preliminary investigation, the motorcycle operator raised a semi-auto pistol and did not follow commands to put the weapon down.
A DPS trooper and Llano County Sheriff’s Deputies fired their service firearms. The suspect died at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation by the Texas Rangers and Llano County Sheriff’s Office.
