Failure to control speed resulted in one person being sent to the hospital Sunday evening.
According to Officer Chris Herrington with the San Angelo Police Department, at approximately 7 p.m. Sunday units were dispatched to the intersection of Sherwood Way and Sunset Drive in reference to an unknown major motor vehicle crash.
Upon arrival it was determined that two vehicles were involved; a red Jeep and a white four door passenger car, Herrington said. The passenger car was traveling westbound on Sherwood Way at a high rate of speed. The exact speed is unknown at this time.
According to Herrington the driver of the passenger car failed to control speed, striking the Jeep. The driver of the Jeep walked away with no injuries and refused service on the scene, while the driver of the passenger car did sustain injuries and was transported by ambulance to Shannon Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the passenger car was issued a citation for failure to control speed.
