One person was injured Monday afternoon when two Chevrolet Impalas collided in the intersection of West 30th and North Chadbourne streets.
Officer Brian Bylsma with the San Angelo Police Department’s Traffic Division said he was dispatched to a major vehicle crash with injuries on 30th and Chadbourne Streets at approximately 2:40 p.m. Monday.
Upon the officer’s arrival there were two Impalas, one silver and one blue. The female driver of the silver Impala told the officer she was pulling up on 30th Street, attempting to turn right northbound of Chadbourne when the crash occurred. She said that she stopped, but did not see the driver of the blue Impala. The driver of the blue Impala told Bylsma he was driving northbound on Chadbourne Street in the right lane when the driver of the silver Impala hit him.
Bylsma further said that the female driver of the silver Impala was transported to a local hospital complaining of back pain. The officer said she will most likely receive a citation for failure to yield the right-of-way. The driver of the blue Impala was issued a citation for no insurance.
