One injured in crash near Lowes on Sherwood Way

One person suffered minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle who failed to yield the right of way Saturday afternoon.

San Angelo Police Department issued a Nixle Alert at 4:16 p.m. Saturday, asking the public to avoid the intersection in front of Lowes on Sherwood Way.

Officer Eric Tabone with the SAPD said they were dispatched at approximately 4 p.m. to a motor vehicle accident on 4100 blk of W. Loop 306 Frontage Road and Sherwood Way.

“A red Dodge 2500 pickup was traveling westbound on Sherwood Way attempting to turn southbound onto the Frontage Road when the driver of the vehicle failed to yield the right-of-way, striking a tan GMC Terrain,” Tabone said.

According to Tabone there appeared to be only minor injuries on the driver of the Terrain, who refused ambulance service.

The driver of the Dodge was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way.
