Oil Spill Closes Johnson Street

On Thursday, December 7, a large oil spill occurred while a fuel truck was replenishing tanks at the Shell station at the intersection of Sherwood Way and Johnson Street.

Agent Eric Kind from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality announced that anywhere between 25 and 200 gallons were spilled.

Regal Oil crews began work to clean up the spill that closed S. Johnson Street and ran into surrounding neighborhoods.

The crew worked quickly to have the street opened up again by Thursday evening.
