A popular attraction for little boys and girls during the San Angelo Rodeo is the Midway Mutton Bustin’ arena on the midway, across from the Auto Wrangler Livestock Building.
Mutton bustin’ is a version of bull or bronc riding, geared specifically for young children who try to ride eight seconds on a sheep. The arena is open to all children who weigh less than 50 lbs. Children will be weighed on site for the safety of the sheep.
Rides are $10 per child, per ride. Local and area schools will have a specific discount night assigned to them where the students from each school will have the opportunity to ride for $5.
Although children can ride each night the arena is open, the school discount will only apply on the assigned school night.
