Dallas Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory will sit out the first four games of his second season. Gregory will serve a four-game suspension for violating the National Football League’s substance abuse policy.
Over the weekend, the San Antonio Spurs beat the Phoenix Suns 118-111 on the strength of Patty Mills 21 points including six 3-pointers.
The Dallas Mavericks beat the Philadelphia 76ers 129-103. Dirk Nowitzki scored his 29,000th point with a 3-pointer in the third quarter. And finally the Houston Rockets beat the Phoenix Suns 116-100. James Harden had 27 points, 10 boards and seven assists.
National Football Scouting Inc, the firm that runs the NFL combine, is putting together a board to oversee sweeping changes to the format of the event. Staple events such as the 40-yard dash could be removed from the program.
In NASCAR news, Denny Hamlin won the 2016 Daytona 500.
