Minnesota officer finds 7 children, woman in labor inside stolen vehicle

Charges were filed Thursday after a Ramsey, Minnesota police officer pulled over a stolen minivan carrying a woman in labor and seven children with packing tape over their mouths.

According to a press release from the Ramsey Police Department, the officer also found two other adults inside the minivan, reported stolen in Missouri, and a gun under the driver’s seat.

The driver, 26-year-old Deszion Marquese Wraggs, was identified as the father of the children and was charged with felony vehicle theft and child neglect.

The woman who reported that she was in labor was immediately transported to a local hospital. It has not been confirmed whether or not she gave birth.

The children were examined by paramedics at the scene and then released to other family members.

The incident remains under investigation.
