Midland woman in jail, charged with trying to hire hitman to kill husband

A 56-year-old Midland woman is in custody at the Midland County Jail on a charge of the solicitation of murder. Laura Dematti reportedly tried to hire a hitman to kill her husband.

According to News West 9,  the would-be killer recorded his encounter with Dematti and later went to the police.

Authorities said the woman told the man very specific information on how to get into their home, including a map of the home for him.

In the recording, Dematti also said that she wanted the incident to be “very quiet” and the man needed to use a silencer on the handgun to commit the crime.

She remains in custody under a $1 million bail.
