A 23-year old Midland man was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter Friday after a motorcycle collision left a 32-year old Midland man dead.

A press release from the City of Midland said Joseph Lian Blk Thawng remained in the Midland County Detention Center Saturday on an intoxication manslaughter charge following the collision on the 400 block of North Midland Drive.

Midland Police and Fire departments responded to the incident at approximately 9:41 p.m. Friday and found Louie White dead at the scene. An investigation into the incident showed that White was traveling northbound on Midland Drive on a Harley Davidson motorcycle when Lian Blk Thawng, who was driving southbound in a Dodge Charger, turned in front of the motorcycle.

White was not wearing a helmet at the time. Lian Blk Thawng was found to be intoxicated, was not injured in the collision and was taken into custody.

Three passengers were in the Charger and were reportedly not injured.
