Golfer Phil Mickelson will be in San Antonio April 18-24 to play in the Valero Texas Open at the AT&T Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio, the tournament host confirmed Wednesday.
Mickelson has captured 42 PGA Tour titles and is the 19th ranked player in the world. 2016 will be his third consecutive appearance in the tournament. Mickelson finished tied for 30th in 2015.
“Phil brings another level of excitement when he enters a tournament and we are grateful he has decided to join us next week,” said Valero Texas Open, executive director Larson Segerdahl, in a press release. “Once again, the fans in the San Antonio area will have a chance to see one of the great players in the world compete against a tremendous field of PGA TOUR players.”
Mickelson has won three Masters tournaments, a PGA championship and an open championship at Muirfield, Scotland. He’s also won four times in Texas – twice at Colonial, a Byron Nelson Classic and a Houston Open.
