Mexican governor calls for Texas boycott

The governor of a state in Mexico called on residents Friday to boycott the city of McAllen for 15 days.

As reported by the San Antonio Express News, Nuevo Leon Gov. Jaime Rodriguez  said he wants to get President-elect Donald Trump’s attention after he moved to keep 800 jobs in Indiana for $7 million.

Rodriguez urged a shopping ban for McAllen, which is on the border with Mexico, and South Padre Island. He said Mexican money should not be spent in the U.S.

McAllen Mayor Jim Darling told The Monitor he was reaching out to the mayor of Monterrey and didn’t know why McAllen was singled out.
