Meals For The Elderly will host its 11th annual Sporting Clay Shoot on Saturday, June 4, at the San Angelo Claybird Association. The non-profit organization, which is not supported by the United Way or federal dollars, hosts the event yearly as a way to raise funds to help feed more than 700 seniors in the Concho Valley.
Sponsorships, registration of shooters and auction donations are currently being accepted for the event.
Two 100 target courses will be available for shooters at 8 a.m. or 11 a.m. Each shooter will be eligible to win a prize as one of each 10 registered will have their choice between a $750 gift certificate from Field & Streams or $500 cash. Shooters must be present to win. The live auction will feature multiple items including guns and camping equipment.
Tickets for a chance to win a 12-gauge Beretta A400 XPlor Action, donated by The Outdoorsman, are available for purchase fir $10 each (or five for $40) at MealsForTheElderly.org; at 310 E. Houston Harte Expressway; or by calling 325-655-9200.
Breakfast and shooter registration is at 7 a.m. June 4. The first rotation for shooters is at 8 a.m. Cost is $165 per shooter and includes breakfast, lunch and a 100 target rotation. Trophies will be awarded to the top two shooters, the top female shooter and the top youth shooter of the day.
