McDonald’s employee fired after serving Topeka police officer a soda with mustard

A McDonald’s employee was fired from their job in Topeka, Kansas, Friday after they allegedly served a Dr. Pepper laced with mustard to a Topeka Police Department officer. The former employee could also face criminal charges.

According to a release from the TPD, information was gathered from the incident of the uniformed officer being served a “tainted” drink. After consulting with the city’s district attorney, a criminal investigation has been opened in the matter.

Kansas GOING BLUE shared a photo of the Dr. Pepper/mustard combo on its Facebook page saying, “A McDonald’s here in Kansas just served a Law Enforcement Officer on duty a Dr Pepper with Mustard in a drive thru order. This is extremely unacceptable!!
According to the manager this happened before with a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper. Maybe we should all remind them of the Taco Bell incident that happened in Newton.

TPD said the local McDonald’s franchise is cooperating with the investigation.
