A cold front moving through the Texas Panhandle produced what looked like a wall of dust Tuesday evening.
The cold front moved through Kansas and Colorado picking up dirt before it reached the Texas Panhandle. According to Heather Lorenzen, National Weather Service Amarillo meteorologist, the front had wind speeds between 50-73 mph. By the time the front reached Amarillo at approximately 10 p.m. Tuesday, the wall of dust almost covered the entire Texas Panhandle. The dust finally subsided at approximately midnight.
Oklahoma Mesonet captured photos of the wall of dust as it moved through the Oklahoma Panhandle.
