Man arrested for DWI in Austin accused of hiding cocaine in stomach fat

CBS Austin reports Austin Police pulled Florentino Herrera over after he was seen rapidly changing lanes on North Lamar Boulevard shortly after midnight. An officer says he also saw Herrera run a stop sign and the traffic stop was initiated.

In an affidavit obtained by the news station, Herrera admitted to having two “Crown and Cokes.” The officer said Herrera smelled strongly of alcohol and his eyes were bloodshot and glassy.

Herrera was caught on camera in the patrol car trying to destroy the cocaine he had hidden under his stomach fat.

He’s been charged with driving while intoxicated, a third-degree felony.
