“Macbeth” performance takes the ASU stage April 26

In observance of the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death, the Angelo State University Department of English and Modern Languages is hosting a staged reading of “Macbeth” April 26.

The performance starts at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public in ASU Auditorium in the Mayer Administration Building, 2602 W. Avenue N.

“Macbeth” will be read by 24 ASU undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in spring English courses on Shakespeare’s works. Dr. Erin Ashworth-King, associate professor of English, will read the stage directions.

The students chose “Macbeth” and worked on technical aspects of the staged reading with Mike Burnett of ASU’s theatre faculty and members of ASU’s Alpha Psi Omega theatre honor society.
