Spring has come to the Concho Valley bringing sunny and warmer conditions. Monday’s temperatures are expected to be in the upper 60s to lower 70s with wind gusts up to 25 mph possible. Elevated fire danger is in effect for the afternoon as wind speeds will increase.
The National Weather Service in San Angelo is cautioning that wildfires can spread more rapidly in windy conditions and residents should be cautious if doing any outdoor activities that involve fire or open flames.
Tuesday’s forecast will be sunny with a high near 82 and breezy with south southwest winds blowing at 15 to 20 mph with gusts as high as 30 mph possible. Tuesday night will be mostly clear with a low near 57 and breezy with south winds at 15 to 20 mph and gusts as high as 30 mph possible.
On Wednesday, temperatures will be in the lower 80s; however, a cold front will move into the area Wednesday night into Thursday morning. A slight chance for rain will be possible.
It will be cooler on Thursday morning with lows in the mid-40s. Highs are expected to be in the mid-60s Thursday.
Although temperatures heading into Friday morning will be in the 30s, no freeze is expected.
