Lone Star electronic benefit transfer cardholders will not be able to use their cards to make purchases or check account balances from 10 p.m. May 22 to 8 a.m. May 23, because of maintenance to the benefits system.
According to a statement from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, clients are asked to make food purchases and withdraw any cash benefits needed prior to the prior to 10 p.m. May 22.
Clients who receive SNAP food benefits and live in Newton or Harris counties can purchase ready-made food because of an FNS-approved waiver. Hot food products can be purchased with SNAP benefits through any SNAP food retailer through May 31.

Additionally, the statement said the Texas Benefits website, yourtexasbenefits.com, will be unavailable from 8:30 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. Tuesday while the site is being updated.
