Reports of the 54-year-old mob boss known as “Mamma” crawled out of the hiding place on his stomach to the top of a wardrobe  at his home in southern Reggio Calabria have surfaced.

At least two dozen police could be seen in a video surrounding Pelle’s wardrobe waiting for him to emerge.

Pelle had been serving a 20-year prison sentence for mafia association, arms and drug trafficking when he managed to slip out of a hospital in Locri in September 2011.
