Heat advisory in effect for most of West Central Texas

The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a heat advisory for most of West Central Texas, including Tom Green County until 7 p.m. Monday.

A  heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. Heat index values will range from 105 to 108 Monday afternoon. The combination of very hot temperatures and high relative humidity will increase the potential for heat related illnesses.

To stay safe during the heat, it’s important to drink plenty of fluids, take frequent breaks if working outside, try to stay in an air-conditioned room and stay out of the sun.

Hot temperatures stay in the forecast for the rest of the work week. High temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday will reach the century mark.
