A Papa John’s delivery man received special instructions from a Nebraska grandson to check on his grandmother, who lives alone in Palm Coast, Florida.
Claire Olsen, 87, had not spoken to her grandson Eric, in two days. Her grandson lives in Nebraska and grew weary of the silence. He told ABC he decided to enlist in the help of the sheriff’s department. However, the sheriff’s department did not answer.
According to NyDailyNews, Papa John’s delivery man Lance Tyler was given specific notes to follow by Eric to make sure his grandmother was not injured by the storm. The delivery man made his way to Claire’s residence and upon arrival the woman responded with, “I didn’t order anything.”
The delivery man then used his cellphone to dial Eric’s phone number who responded with, “I got worried about you. You must be hungry by now.”
The grandmother’s home was not damaged, nor was she injured. She deemed fared better than others who were impacted by Hurricane Matthew’s wrath that killed approximately 35 people in the U.S. and nearly 500 in Haiti.
