Grammatically challenged bank robber sought by FBI

A $1,000 reward has been offered by the FBI for information leading to the arrest of a suspect known as “The Spelling Bee Bandit.”

The man is wanted for the robbery of four banks in the last three weeks, all in the Boston area. In each instance, the man wrote “robery” [sic] on a withdrawal slip before handing it to the teller.

Daniel R. Romanzo of FBI Boston’s Violent Crimes Task Force told The Boston Herald, “He has become increasingly aggressive with the tellers both in his physical interactions and his verbal interaction. The individual has been leaning over the teller counter to interact with the tellers and the tone of his voice has become more aggressive toward the teller…and it has resulted in a greater loss to the banks for each of the robberies.”

He was described by witnesses as thin white man in his late 30s to early 40s between 5’11” and 6’2″.
