Four people were reportedly shot in south Houston on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard during what is being described as an impromptu block party for MLK Day.
The Houston Chronicle reports the shooting happened at about 6:30 p.m. Monday at the impromptu party attended by hundreds of people. Houston police officers were in the area trying to move people off the road and onto the sidewalk when they heard gunfire.
At the scene, officers found a man, a woman and a 13-year-old girl had been hit by gunfire. The victims were taken to area hospitals. A fourth victim, a woman, ran to a house down the street.
