Former Mayor Joins Texas Transportation Commission

Former Mayor of San Angelo, Alvin New, has been appointed to the Texas Transportation Commission by Governor Greg Abbott.

New is currently the owner of 4N Ranches and previously served as the CEO of Town & Country Food Stores.

New also has a history of involvement within the community by serving on the Chamber of Commerce board, the Texas Restaurant Association, and other similar organizations.

He also currently works with both Angelo State University and Goodfellow Air Force base.

The Texas Transportation Commission is responsible for making policies that affect the state’s highways and transportation. The commission is also in charge of the Texas Department of Transportation.

Currently, the Commission and many other city officials are working towards expanding I-14 through San Angelo.
