Driver of Hummer escapes serious injury after rear-ending truck tractor on RM 853

The driver of a Hummer received minor injuries after rear-ending a truck tractor on RM 853 Thursday afternoon. He was trapped in his vehicle for about five minutes before being freed.

Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Young said the driver failed to control his speed as he was traveling southbound on 853, which caused him to crash into the truck.

The driver of the Reece Albert truck tractor was not injured in the crash.

The driver of the Hummer was issued a citation for failure to control speed, Young said.

San Angelo Fire Department paramedics and the Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department responded to the crash.
