The Texas Department of Public Safety seized 15 lbs. of cocaine after a trooper stopped a vehicle Nov. 19 in Carson County.
At approximately 12:23 p.m. Nov. 19, a trooper stopped a 2004 Ford passenger car traveling east on Interstate 40 near Conway, for a traffic violation. The trooper found six plastic-wrapped packages of cocaine inside the rear doors. The estimated street value of the cocaine is $923,000.
The driver, Luisana Acosta, 31, of West Covina, California, and passenger Jamie Rios, 45, of Downey, California, were arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. They were booked into the Carson County jail.
The drugs were allegedly being transported from Los Angeles to Philadelphia.
