Texas Department of Public Safety seized more than 12 lbs of methamphetamine Saturday after a Texas Highway Patrol trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County.
At approximately 2:44 p.m. Saturday, the trooper pulled over a 2003 Nissan passenger car traveling east on Interstate 40 near Conway, for a traffic violation. The trooper found several plastic-wrapped packages of methamphetamine hidden inside the car’s rocker panels.
The drugs are valued at approximately $1 million.
The driver, 20-year-old Ernesto Ayala, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. He was booked into the Carson County Jail.
The drugs were allegedly being transported from San Diego, California, to Oklahoma City.
