DPS increases reward for Most Wanted Sex Offender from Waco to $8,000

The reward for Monroe Hernandez, 50, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender and December’s featured fugitive, has been increased to $8,000 for information leading to his capture if the tip comes in this month.

Waco Crime Stoppers is offering an additional reward for Hernandez’s arrest.

Hernandez is wanted for parole violation and failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements.

Hernandez’s last known address was in Waco and he has ties to the area. In 1993, Hernandez was convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in McLennan County. He has been wanted since September 2014.

Hernandez is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs approximately 180 lbs. He has tattoos on his chest, left hand and both legs; and may be using the aliases Juan Antonio Gonzales, Juan Antonio Gonzalez, Arthur Moreno Hernandez, Moreno Hernandez or Morora Hernandez.

Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division, offers cash rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders.

To be eligible for the cash rewards, tipsters must provide information to authorities using one of the five following methods:

All tips are anonymous – regardless of how they are submitted and tipsters will be provided a tip number instead of using a name.

DPS investigators work with local law enforcement agencies to select fugitives for the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive and Sex Offender lists. Current lists – with photos – on the DPS website at dps.texas.gov/texas10mostwanted/.

DPS reminds the public to not attempt to apprehend these fugitives as they are considered armed and dangerous.
