According to multiple sources, raging water floods in West Virginia have left hundreds stranded.
Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin activated 200 National Guard members to assist in eight counties and has authorized almost 300 more to help with rescue and response efforts.
The National Weather Service is calling this heavy rainfall a “one-in-a-thousand-year-event.”
Ages of those who have died in the floods at this time range from as young as a child to an elderly man.
