Two young females in a silver 2007 Pontiac Vibe suffered seat belt marks and scratches after being hit by a black 2011 Dodge Durango Saturday afternoon.
According to Officer Pollitt with San Angelo Police Department’s Patrol Division, he was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at approximately 4:15 p.m. Saturday in the intersection of South Chadbourne Street and West Concho Avenue.
After talking to both drivers, passengers and independent witnesses at the scene, Pollitt was able to determine that East and West traffic on Concho had a green light and North and Southbound traffic on Chadbourne had a red light at the time of the crash.
Driver of the Durango therefore disregarded the red light, resulting in the crash between the two vehichles, Pollitt said.
Both female passengers in the Vibe had seat belt marks and minor scratches. No one else got injured.
The driver of the Durango was issued a citation for disregarding a red light.
