The City of San Angelo Public Information Office’s 99-second video, “#ThisPlaceMatters,” won the Best of Show award at the local American Advertising Federation’s ADDY Awards event Friday evening. In its first year to enter the contest, the public information office team of Anthony Wilson and Brian Groves, also won a Gold Award for the San Angelo Fire Department recruitment video, “Answering the Call.”
Both videos will move on to compete in the regional AAF competition.
#ThisPlaceMatters is a montage of San Angelo’s assets including Fort Concho National Historic Landmark, the San Angelo Rodeo, the Concho River, Goodfellow Air Force Base and more. The initial production of the video was to generate interest at the Ports-to-Plains Alliance annual conference. Since its debut, the video has been viewed more than 180,000 times.
