Commissioners reinstate burn ban, effective immediately

Tom Green County Commissioners reinstated a county-wide burn ban during Tuesday’s meeting.

The ban will stay in effect until commissioners have decided it is no longer needed. It will be reevaluated weekly and unless its decided that there is no longer a need for it, the ban will be in effect for 90 days.

Other items discussed at the meeting were the acknowledgement of the new 4-H and Youth Development Agent, Jaye Chasteen; a $1,500 Friends of the Library donation; adopting the budget amendment, that commissioners consider a total benefits solution payroll deduction and that they accept a interlocal agreement between the City of San Angelo and Tom Green County for the operation of the Mental Health Unit and the Crisis Intervention Unit.

The commissioners also discussed issues dealing with County Infrastructure Fund Grant, Texas Community Development Block Grant – Drought Disaster Relief Fund and Texas Department of Agriculture Colonia fund – FWSD #1, as well as issues dealing with ongoing construction/remodeling projects and taking any actions necessary.

All items were passed.
