Collision at intersection of S. Koenigheim St. and W. Concho Ave. flips car, sends 2 to hospital

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. tonight a collision occurred at the intersection of S. Koenigheim Street and W. Concho Avenue, flipping one car and sending two people to the hospital.

A black Nissan Rogue was struck by a black Ford Mustang when the Nissan ran a red light on W. Concho. The Nissan was flipped and the female driver was briefly trapped. Witnesses were able to safely get the driver out of the vehicle. “She is not showing any signs of injury at this time,” SAPD’s Officer Kyle Green said at the scene.

Both of the Ford’s occupants were transported to the hospital, the driver complaining of head and eye injuries and the passenger ┬ácomplaining of head injury.

A citation was given to the driver of the Nissan for disregarding a red light.
