The City of San Angelo will offer residents two sites to recycle non-artificial Christmas trees.
From Monday, Dec. 26, through Saturday, Jan. 7, residents can take trees to the SAFE Recycling Center, 702 Warehouse Road, or the Foster Communications Coliseum parking lot, 50 E. 43rd St. Trees can be dropped off any time inside the barricaded area at each location. The City will run the discarded trees through a chipper as needed.
Trees must have all ornaments and decorations removed to prevent damage to the chippers.
Mulch from the chippers is available for free at the City’s landfill, 3002 Old Ballinger Highway. The landfill is open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
