City looking for volunteers for annual Neighborhood Blitz

The City of San Angelo’s Neighborhood & Family Services Department is looking for volunteer groups to paint the homes of low income senior citizens during the its annual Neighborhood Paint Blitz planned for April 30.

The City will rehabilitate 33 homes in the Reagan area as part of its neighborhood revitalization program.

In a press release from the City’s public information office, director of Neighborhood & Family Services Department Bob Salas said, “Those who have volunteered in our Neighborhood Blitz inevitably find it a fulfilling experience helping their neighbors in need.”

All equipment and supplies including ladders, paint and rollers will be provided along with a continental breakfast and a warm lunch.

The release from the City said that the optimal number of volunteers per team is 12-15; however, individuals that sign up to volunteer are welcome and will be placed on an existing team.
