The San Angelo-Tom Green Health Department will be closed Dec. 1, as its staff offers HIV and sexually-transmitted disease testing at Angelo State University as part of World AIDS Day.
The health department is located at 2030 Pulliam St., Suite 8. It is open from 8 a.m.-noon and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
World AIDS Day is held on Dec. 1 annually and is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died.
World AIDS Day was the first-ever global health day, held for the first time in 1988, according to worldaidsday.org.
