When the egg nog has all been drank, the presents all unwrapped and every last scent of nature has left the real Christmas tree in your living room, you may need somewhere to properly dispose of your non-artificial tree.
From Tuesday, December 26 through Sunday, January 7, trees can be taken to SAFE Recycling Center at 702 Warehouse Road or the Foster Communications Colliseum parking lot at 50 E. 43rd Street.
The City will run these trees through a chipper and mulch from this will be available for free at the City’s landfill.
The landfill is located at 3002 Old Ballinger Highway and is open 7 a.m.- 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
All ornaments and decorations MUST be removed from the trees before they can be accepted at these sites.
