Charles Manson transported to hospital, reportedly “seriously ill”

Mass murderer Charles Manson was transported from Corcoran State Prison to a Bakersfield hospital for an undisclosed medical issue, two sources familiar with the situation said.

One of the sources said Manson, 82, was seriously ill but could not provide further details, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Officials with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation  declined to comment, citing federal and state laws and saying inmates’ medical information is private.

Manson and members of his cult were convicted of killing actress Sharon Tate and eight other people over a period of five weeks in the Los Angeles area in 1969, for which he is serving nine concurrent life sentences.
