Joseph Cortese and Marcos Garcia beat out the competition to become part of the Texas Music Educators Association All-State Choir and All-State Band.
The All-State audition process begins with over 64,000 students from around the state with only 3% of those making the all-state groups. The highest-ranking musicians judged at the Texas Music Educators Association Area competitions qualify to perform in the All-State music groups. Cortese is a Senior bass vocalist and Garcia a Senior trumpet player. The two will perform during the All-State concerts during the TMEA conference on February 13 in San Antonio. TMEA is the largest music convention and consortium in the world and boasts the highest levels of musicianship, student leadership and performance.
