Scientist, television personality and CEO of The Planetary Society, Bill Nye, will be the special guest at the Davidson Distinguished Lecture Series Thursday at Midland College.
“An Evening with Bill Nye, ‘The Science Guy'” will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center, 3600 N. Garfield St., on the Midland College campus. The Davidson Distinguished Lecture Series is presented in association with the Midland College Foundation and Friends of the Series and brings two guests to the series annually.
Nye is best known for his television series, “Bill Nye, the Science Guy,” which ran from 1993-1998. According to a Midland College post, announcing his visit, he has always been fascinated with how things work. After receiving a mechanical engineering degree at Cornell University and working as an engineer at Boeing, he combined his love of science with his flair for comedy… and a television career was born.
The lecture is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. A representative from the Midland College Foundation said seating is based on first come, first served basis.
