The Walk for Autism 2016, hosted by the Autism Alliance of the Concho Valley, will be at 8:30 a.m. April 23, at El Paseo de Santa Angela, 34 W. Avenue D.
The alliance is a program of The Arc, a program that promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes, according to its website.
A resource fair will be available beginning at 8:30 a.m. Welcoming ceremony and announcements will be held at 9:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m.
Teams and individual walkers are welcome, along with supporters. There will be activities available for children.
Donations will benefit the autism community in the Concho Valley.
The Autism Alliance was formed in November 2015 and aims to provide support, community events, training, networking and grants in order to help meet the specific needs of children and adults with autism and their families within the Concho Valley.
