Austin drunk driver goes airborne, flips Ferrari down 40-foot ravine

A drunk driver crashed his $385,000 Ferrari into a 40-foot ravine Friday after losing control of the car at over 100 mph in Austin’s West Lake Hill community.

Amazingly, none of the car’s three occupants suffered major injuries according to mysanantonio.com.

The car wasn’t so lucky.

28-year-old James Sidney Allen, the man driving the vehicle, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after the crash.

“The vehicle failed to make the first turn (no surprise there) and continued straight into the woods,” according to a Facebook post from the Austin Fire Department. “It then went airborne for 40 feet, flipped over in the air, and landed facing the way it went in, but on its side, down a 40-foot ravine.”
